Police Chase Needs Arrest of Utah Stolen Vehicle Suspect

A stolen car leads officers from several agencies on a two county chase ending at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Monument, Saturday. The chase began in Gunnison after a pickup truck stolen from Utah crashed. Tyler Shepard of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and a 16–year–old Lehi woman were caught at that time.

Minutes later, Coby Bronson of Payson, Utah, stole another vehicle and left the accident scene. Police began chasing the stolen truck west on Highway 50 at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Police fired shots at Bronson. He then ran into a field after wrecking the stolen truck and gave himself up to a Gunnison County Deputy.

Bronson is charged with auto theft and a number of other violations. Methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia were also found during a search of one of the stolen vehicles.
