A Palisade winery has filed a lawsuit against one of its' competitors over the use of the Palisade name, but that suit may no longer be necessary. Plum Creek Cellars sued Debeque Canyons Winery in Denver District Court earlier this week claiming its' rival can't use the name Palisade Plum Creek, maker of Palisade Red and Palisade Rose and Palisade White sued Debeque Winery after that company began bottling a sirah–rousson blend wine named Cote de Palisade. Plum Creek co–owner Sue Phillips is quoted in today's Denver Post as saying customers have been confused by the two brands, however, this afternoon an industry insider tells 11 News that Debeque canyon winery has decided to re–name their product, which may quash the lawsuit now in court.
