Frisco, Colo. (ap) _ A bank located at the base of Copper
Mountain Ski Resort is back open again today, less than 24 hours
after a man robbed an employee at gunpoint -- and escaped on a
yellow bicycle. Authorities say the man entered the alpine bank branch just before one o-clock yesterday afternoon, displayed a semiautomatic handgun and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. About a dozen law enforcement officers responded to the armed robbery call and cordoned off the area, while detectives searched for evidence.
No one was hurt. The bank is inside the passage point building, near Copper's center village entrance. Captain Joe Wray says the bank leases its space from the resort, which is cooperating with the investigation. Anyone with information is being urged to call the Summit County Sheriff's Office at (970) 453-2232, or crime stoppers at 1-866-453-stop. Callers can remain anonymous, and could be eligible for a cash reward.
