Breckenridge (AP) A fire near Summit High School is estimated to be 80 percent contained, as school officials try to get the strong smell of smoke out of the building. Thirty firefighters and three engines are working on the so–called "red, white and blue" fire, which charred ten to 15 acres within 200 yards of the school Monday.
Officials called off classes Tuesday in an effort to clear smoke that penetrated the Frisco–area school. Fire investigators are monitoring the air quality, and a decision on Wednesday's classes is expected this afternoon.
About 800 students were evacuated when the fire broke out. some 20 homes were also cleared, but authorities allowed everyone to return by seven o–clock last night.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
