Walker Field Airport is back to normal after being closed for nearly 11 hours due to a power outage resulting from yesterday's storm. Just after 5:30 a transformer near the terminal blew when rainwater collected in a basin around the equipment. That caused the airport to close the terminal and all runways. The airport re–opened about 4:30 a.m. Charles Novenskie with Walker Field Airport says this is the third time this year this transformer has caused problems. He says the airport authority is working with xcel energy to solve the problem.
