This year's annual memory walk raised more than 45,000 dollars for the Alzheimer's Association. In Grand Junction, 573 people attended the event raising 37–thousand 652 dollars. In Montrose, 122 people took part in the Memory Walk raising 8,143 dollars bringing the grand total for both cities to 45,795 dollars. The Alzheimer's Association will use the majority of the money raised at the Memory Walk to provide support and education for a nine county region on the Western Slope and a portion of the proceeds will go to help Hurricane Katrina Victims living with Alzheimer's.
