More than 400 of the Grand Valley's youngest community members raised thousands of dollars to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Today students and parents of Wingate Elementary celebrate their fundraising effort with rows and rows of cake. The group raised 3–thousand dollars for the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Fund. Alpine bank is matching the amount for a grand total of 6–thousand dollars toward the relief effort.
