Mesa County residents will now have a new option for paying property taxes as the Mesa County Treasurer's Office will soon accept credit card payments. The Mesa County Commissioners approved contracts Monday permitting credit card use and internet payments for property taxes.
Wells Fargo bank will provide credit card processing and e–commerce services and Official Payments Corporation will provide check payment and process transaction, as well as credit and debit card services.
Mesa County Treasurer Monika Todd says the new services will fill a need for residents. Todd says the county will not make any money over and above that owed in property taxes and that the web site for filing property taxes will be a secure site.
She says the new e–commerce site will be up and running in about six weeks.
