Denver (AP) A 66–year–old man missing since last Tuesday
apparently fell 1,200 feet down a snow chute to his death.
Rescuers Monday afternoon found the body of Jose Lopez on the south side of Snowmass Peak in Gunnison County. Rick Beseckner of the Gunnison County Sheriff's Office says it appears Lopez fell and died near where another man died last year.
A team will be sent Tuesday to recover Lopez's body.
Meanwhile, another missing hiker, a woman in her 30s, has been missing since late Saturday in Eagle County. She was last seen near Mount of the Holy Cross, when she told her hiking partner she was tired.
The man went to the summit without her and couldn't find her on his way back down. Her name wasn't released.
