Statewide Conference On Park Management Starts In Grand Junction

Parks and recreation professionals from around the state are in Grand Junction this week learning to make the most of their time and money while still creating a good experience for users.
Grand Junction is hosting the annual Colorado Parks and Recreation Association Annual Conference for the first time since 1998.

The multi–day meeting is drawing more than 250 professionals to hear experts discuss issues on designing lower–maintenance landscapes and effective management techniques. Landscape experts also are learning how they can partner with the public to help create an attractive place to live. Experts say it's also important today to be able maximize tight budgets.

The conference continues through Thursday. It's estimated the conference will bring more than $180,000 to the Grand Junction economy.
