Gateway Canyons Project Given Green Light By Mesa County Commissioners

A new resort in Mesa County has been given approval by County Commissioners to move forward with the next phase of construction. Gateway Canyons in Gateway in western Mesa County brought their proposal to commissioners during a hearing Tuesday and it was accepted.

This gives Gateway Canyons the final go-ahead to start their second phase of construction. Next year, visitors can expect to see 40 more rooms in the hotel, more amenities like a pool and hot tub and a new events center.

The auto museum on the property will be finished on time, but Gateway Canyons decided that they needed phase two to be completed before they opened it to the public.

They are expecting it to open in the spring or summer of next year.
