The United States Postal Service will handle more than 20 billion pieces of holiday mail from now until Christmas, but thanks to new technology, long lines at the post office are quickly shrinking.
Automated Postal Centers can be found at most post offices. At an Automated Postal Center customers can buy stamps, mail small packages and purchase other mailing services, like insurance using a credit or debit card.
The best part is there's no waiting in line. The whole process takes about three minutes and it's open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
The biggest and busiest mailing day at post offices this year are Monday, December 19th. The biggest delivery day is expected to be Wednesday, December 21st.
