Denver (AP) Winds gusting up to 20 miles per hour collapsed
the rigging that was supporting two window washers in downtown Denver Wednesday morning, sending them crashing into the building's windows.
Fire Lieutenant Phil Champagne says the men swung violently back and forth on the 12th floor of the Denver Plaza Tower, breaking the windows. One suffered minor injuries. Champagne says firefighters eventually were able to break a window and pull the men in.
Witness Juanito Tamez told KCNC-TV that glass came flying
down as the rig slammed into the building. The street below the broken windows were cordoned off and the 12th story was evacuated.
