Breckenridge, Colo. (AP)- A Freshman State Representative and
former coroner is joining the democratic race for Governor. Gary Lindstrom will face former Denver District Attorney Bill
Ritter, the only other candidate to announce a run for his party's nomination. Lindstrom says the state needs a plan to control what he calls ``out–of–control growth,'' comparing the population explosion to someone inviting 20 people to stay in a five–bedroom home. Lindstrom says he wants to slow development along the Interstate 25 corridor on the front range, and focus on attracting more industry to the western slope — where there's more water. The 63–year–old also says he's pro–choice. Ritter, who's 49, has been criticized by members of his own party for taking an anti–abortion stance.
