Motorcyclist Crashes; Lands In Back Seat Of Car

An afternoon accident in Grand Junction lands the driver of a motorcycle in the back seat of another vehicle. The accident happened around 3:00 p.m. Staurday on Highway 50 just south of the 5th Street bridge. The driver of a late model Toyota Avalon says he was driving about 40 miles per hour when he felt a sudden jolt, turns out a motorcyclist slammed into the back of his vehicle. The biker went through the rear window landing in the back seat of the Toyota and although he was not wearing a helmet, Grand Junction police say when emergency workers arrived the man was conscious and talking. Southbound traffic was slowed for about half hour while the accident was cleared, the biker was taken to St. Mary's hospital with unspecified injuries and police say once the cause of the accident is determined, the decision on any traffic citations will be made.
