An earthquake shook Steamboat Springs, Colorado for several seconds late Friday night, rattling dishes and knocking pictures off of walls. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake registered 4.1 on the richter scale and was centered roughly 14 miles east northeast of Steamboat Springs. The earthquake hit at about 11:57 p.m.. The Routt County communications center fielded more than 170 emergency calls in the first hour after the quake. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in the Steamboat area.
