Supporters Report $877,000 In Support For Measure To Fix State Budget

Denver (AP) Supporters of ballot measures that would temporarily loosen state tax limits have raised $877,000 over the past two weeks. Reports released Monday show the group "Vote no, it's your dough" has raised a total of $4.4 million.

Contributors include Douglas Bruce, who wrote the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights that set those tax limits. The group opposes Referendum C, which would temporarily lift state spending limits and allow the state to keep up to $3.7 billion in taxes over five years that would otherwise be refunded.

It also opposes Referendum D, which would allow the state to borrow up to $2.1 billion for roads, schools and other projects if C passes.
