The Big Lots nationwide retail chain has announced plans to close dozens of stores. Officials with the company say they are not giving specific store locations at this time and officials wouldn't specify if the store located on North Avenue in Grand Junction would be impacted.
A total of 85 merchandise stores and 41 furniture stores are slated for closure. No word on total job losses, but the company says as many as 25 to 30 employees per store could be affected.
The closings are part of the company's strategy to improve its bottom line.
