Mesa County health officials are calling Friday's dual flu clinics a success, adding that the use of Mesa County employees in non–health positions proved valuable. For the first time ever the health department gave flu shots at Lincoln Park Barn and at Mesa Mall.
The two clinics reduced waiting times for those wanting flu shots as health department officials had hoped, but the dual clinics also served as a way to practice crisis management by bringing in some county employees to manage crowds and do other non–medical duties.
The next three flu shot clinics are scheduled for next Thursday at the Mesa County Community Services building in Grand Junction, October 18th at Plateau Valley School near Collbran
and October 19th at the Gateway Community Center.
These clinics are for high–risk patients including the very young and the elderly.
