A ground breaking ceremony will take place Monday for the largest public works project in the history of Grand Junction. The $89-Million Riverside Parkway project will become a major roadway to move traffic downtown. The first leg of the parkway will be four miles of road between 9th Street and 29 Road and eventually the parkway will go through to 24 Road. City officials have had to jump some major hurdles to get this project underway. There will be speakers, refreshments, and music during the event. The ground breaking will be held at the intersection of 9th Street and Struthers Avenue at 1:30 P.M. The public is invited to attend.
