A potential lawsuit over the March 20th Electric Mountain Lodge explosion which killed three children will not include the town of Paonia. Grand Junction attorney Keith Killian who is considering filing the lawsuit says the town's limits didn't include the Electric Mountain Lodge. The lawsuit would be on behalf of lodge owners Michael and Nancy Hughes, whose grandchildren were killed and 12 extended family members injured in the blast. According to published reports, Killian has filed notice of the potential lawsuit and he says it could allege that lack of regulation in Delta County contributed to the explosion. The county has been notified of the potential lawsuit. Killian now has two years to file.
