thanks to the collaborative efforts of a number of agencies across the state a grant of more than $10,000 was given to the City of Grand Junction for the removal of tamerisk along the riverfront, Tuesday. Great Outdoors Colorado funded the $12,000 grant so tamerisk removal could continue along the riverfront.

Each fall the Conservation corp Cill spend two to four weeks with hand crews to help with the removal.

During the fall of 2006 and 2007 the City of Grand Junction will fund a total of $48,000 to help with the removal.
