A Grand Junction man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital after being shot early Saturday morning. At about 2:00 A.M. police were called to 10th Street and Belford Avenue on a report of a suicidal subject. They found a man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. At this time police know very little about the shooting and say it's unclear if the man shot himself in an attempted suicide or if someone else was present at the time of the shooting in a possible attempted homicide. Police are still searching for the gun used in the shooting. Neighbors confirmed the man does live in the home at 1013 Belford Avenue where he was found outside on the sidewalk.
