Roice-Hurst Animal Shelter Reopens Following Asbestos Cleanup

The animal shelter for the Roice Hurst Humane Society reopened its doors, Monday. After having to close down temporarily to treat an asbestos problem. After weeks of working non-stop volunteers and employees celebrated the reopening of the only non-kill animal shelter in the Grand Valley.

In recent months the building had been posing problems for the shelter, but thanks to the community and dedicated volunteers,
the shelter is starting to make progress and is hoping to start constructing its new facility soon.

Chris Aguiniga with Roice-Hurst Says if it weren't for the community's help the shelter would not be able to keep its doors open.
