Cumulus Broadcasting of Grand Junction presented the American Red Cross with a very large check Friday morning. Five of the radio stations raised more than $10,000 for the American Red Cross through various promotions involving listeners and on–air personalities.
The funds are specifically earmarked to aid victims of recent hurricanes in the Gulf.
Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath prompted the largest response to a single natural disaster in American Red Cross history and the 2005 hurricane season continues now with Rita and Wilma.
