Colorado Heating Bill Increase Not As Bad As Predicted

You may not have to pay as much as originally anticipated for your heating bill next month. Because of a recent decrease in natural gas prices Xcel Energy is amending it's filing with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission for less of an increase.

That means on average electricity rates would be about $10.17 a month, instead of an average monthly increase of $15.80.

Xcel officials say the impact of future natural gas prices on electricity production is anticipated to be less than the market showed last week.
