A group of Grand Junction residents gathered at Mesa State College Tuesday in a national effort to commemorate Iraqi civilians that have been killed. The group says 100,000 Iraqi children, women and men have lost their lives as a result of being caught on a battlefield without borders in the crossfire.
Tuesday through Friday from noon to 1:00 p.m. at various locations the group will ring a bell every :20 seconds until every life lost is accounted for.
Organizers say it's important to publicly mourn these deaths.
Wednesday's bell ringing ceremony will take place at the Downtown Post Office at 4th Street and White Avenue.
