And then there were three, that's the number of finalists being considered for the job as manager at Walker Field Airport in Grand Junction. The three male finalists went through a vigorous interviewing process by the Airport Authority's seven member board Thursday. That's was followed by a meet and greet reception for the finalists at the Grand Vista Hotel.
Walker Field Spokesperson Charlie Novinskie says all three finalists have airport managerial experience. One of the candidates is currently employed at Walker Field and is serving as interim manager. Another candidate is a manager in Aspen and the other comes from Iowa City, Iowa.
The position, that pays between $75-$90,000 a year, has been vacant since Corrine Nystrom left the post at the end of July.
The Airport Authority board hopes to make a final decision on filling the position sometime Friday.
