Governor Bill Owens has announced his selection to replace retiring judge Nicholas Massaro from Mesa County. Owens has appointed judge Thomas Deister of Grand Junction to District Court.
Owens says Deister brings a wealth of experience to the bench.
He has been a Mesa County court judge for nine years. Deister has also served as Assistant District Attorney and has maintained a private practice.
Deister received his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Denver.
