Saint Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction is now the only medical facility between Denver and Salt Lake City with the latest technology of robotic surgery. Tuesday morning, Saint Mary's Hospital showcased its newest technology, the Da Vinci Surgical System.
The robotic machine provides a three–dimensional view and the same full range of motion as the human hand through a smaller incision. The new method is less invasive and reduces a patients recovery time.
Saint Mary's Hospital is hoping to do its first robotic surgery at the beginning of next year.
The robotic surgical system will be open to the public to view Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until noon at Saint Marys' Advance Medical Pavillion.
