Longtime Grand Valley community leader Harry Butler won a spot on the Mesa County School District 51 Board Tuesday night. With 99% of the votes counted, Butler beat challenger Sam Susuras by a margin of 16,931 to 10,36638 percent.
Butler, who served 4 years on the Grand Junction City Council, takes over for longtime board member Marcia Neal.
There were two uncontested races for the District 51 School Board on Tuesday. Leslie Kiesler won in District D and Ronnie Rowley won in District E.
