Glenwood Springs (AP) Garfield County Oil and Gas Auditor Doug Dennison is leaving his position to take a job with Occidental Oil. He'll become a regulatory coordinator for the company in Grand Junction. Dennison had served as a liaison between county government and residents affected by natural gas drilling, in his role as oil and gas auditor.
The county created the post in response to increasing complaints about traffic, dust and noise from gas development.
Dennison organized an energy advisory board as a way for
industry representatives and residents to meet on a monthly basis.
