After weeks of not knowing if a free Thanksgiving dinner for the less fortunate of the Grand Valley would be possible this year the Salvation Army is pleased to announce there will be two locations for the annual feast this year.
The dinner is usually held at the Western Sizzlin' in Grand Junction, but the restaurant closed recently. Instead the traditional sit–down dinner will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Elks Lodge on 4th Street and the Saint Regis building on Colorado Avenue.
Organizers say having two locations right around the corner from each other will allow the Salvation Army to serve more people more efficiently.
If you would like to contribute to the dinner the Salvation Army in Grand Junction is currently accepting donations of 20 pound turkeys and pumpkin pies.
