Mesa State Students Get Proactive About Protecting Themselves

In light of a recent alleged sexual assualt on the Mesa State campus the student body government has decided to take a proactive approach and is alerting all students of the possible danger. In the past week and a half the student government has handed out 200 whistles for the Whistle Stop Program.

The whistles are for students to use when they feel threatened and to alert other people in the area of the problem. In addition, the student government has posted a sketch of the suspect in the student center hoping that students will stop and look at the sketch and be aware at all times.

Also, the student government is hosting a student summit to discuss campus safety sometime next week. An exact time and location has not yet been decided. We will update you when the information becomes available.
