Snow in the high country Saturday makes for treacherous conditions along Interstate 70. The snow forced CDOT to close several roads temporarily including Vail and Loveland Passes and chain laws were in effect for several hours. A storm has dumped up to a foot of snow on the rocky mountains. It started falling Friday night. Snow plows have kept I–70 open, but roads in the region are reported to be icy and snow–packed. The heavy snowfall is good news for the three Colorado ski resorts already open and more snow is expected next week. The three ski resorts now open are Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, and Copper Mountain.
