Producers of agriculture products in Mesa County gather Saturday to discuss the past year and what's ahead for the industry. According to Mesa County Farm Bureau President Mel Rettig, 2005 has been a relatively good year for agriculture in Colorado. The favorable rains have helped, however the thriving crops nationwide have lowered the cost for some commodities. The recent passing of Referendum C will also help the industry as future cuts to Colorado's Department of Agriculture will be avoided. During Saturday's annual meeting the farm bureau also elected county officers and board members for the next year.
