A Grand Valley Transit bus leaving Mesa Mall collided with a car Wednesday morning sending two people to the hospital. The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. According to Grand Junction police officers, a green Pontiac Grand Am was headed west on Highways 6 & 50 when it hit the G.V.T. bus head on.
The bus was attempting to make a left hand turn onto 24 1/2 road and police say it appears the bus had a green arrow.
The driver and the passenger of the Pontiac were taken to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the bus and its two passengers walked away from the accident with no serious injuries, but were a little shaken up.
Wednesday evening no tickets had been issued pending an investigation by the Grand Junction Police Department.
