Denver (AP)- Snowboarder John Ryan figures he was very lucky,
but his luck was about to run out. A day after he was rescued from the backcountry near Keystone resort, Ryan said he doubted he could have survived a fourth day. Ryan, who is recovering from frostbite at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, said he may loose some toes to frostbite. Ryan said he thought he was headed for another lift when he
wandered outside the ski area's boundaries. When he realized he was lost, and the snow was waste deep, he built a snow fort and
hunkered down. He spent most of his time praying, and listening for signs of rescuers nearby. He got by on one bottle of water and a granola bar.
