Fire, Explosions Destroy Clifton House Trailer

A mobile home was destroyed by a fire Monday morning causing more than $100,000. A mobile home at 424 30 ½ Road in Clifton caught fire at around 8:00 a.m. Clifton fire fighters believe the fire started from outside the trailer and worked its way inside, where it reached oxygen tanks inside the home, causing several explosions. It took nearly an hour to get the fire under control and it burned almost everything.

The trailer home is considered a total loss, nothing was saved.
Two cars outside the home were also destroyed by the fire, as well as a nearby shed.

The loss of property is expected to be more than $100,000, but luckily no one was hurt in the fire.

Clifton fire investigators will continue to look into the cause of the fire. Residents of the home did tell firefighters that they had been having electrical problems.
