Denver (AP) Colorado's unemployment rate is down three–tenths of a percentage point to 4.9% for October, and state labor officials credit a stable economy for the decrease. The rate compares with 5.2% September, and is down from 5.4% in October of last year.
The number of people in the work force stayed virtually unchanged last month at 2.2 million. The State Labor Department says there were about 41,600 more people on the job than during the same month a year ago.
Nine of the eleven major industry sectors posted job gains, in seasonally–adjusted, year–over–year comparisons.
