The application deadline is approaching for teens interested in getting involved in local politics. The Teen Leadership Commission is being created by the Mesa County Commissioners and those who join will have a hand in planning the future of Mesa County.
The commission will have approximately 12 to 15 members, ranging from 8th to 12th grades. The county is trying to reach students from not only area public schools, but those in private and home school programs as well. They are hoping to attract a variety of students.
Applications are due November 28th. The interview process with county commissioners will commence in December. The first meeting is set for January.
