A 46–year–old transient man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following a stabbing at a Grand Junction apartment building. 26–year–old Sarah Alvarado was stabbed with a three foot long sword Wednesday night at an apartment building on White Avenue.
According to the Grand junction police department, Michael Flowers, a transient who had been staying at the apartment for several days, told police he was actually planning on killing the apartment's resident, 29–year–old Eric Loughridge. Alvarado accidentally got in the way.
The woman suffered severe internal injuries, however she is expected to recover.
Flowers will be arraigned Friday at the Mesa County Justice Center on several charges, including first and second degree attempted murder.
