Aurora (AP) The Rocky Mountain News reports Thursday that the disappearance of six–year–old Aarone Thompson was reported less than two hours after a social worker had visited her father's home. Catholic Charities President Jim Mauck confirmed the November 14th visit, but refused to provide details.
The visit was an annual one that helped determine whether the family was still eligible for government assistance. Aurora Interim Police Chief Terry Jones said, "social services is a pertinent part of this investigation."
Sam Riddle, a spokesman for the girl's father, Aaron Thompson, said he had heard several different stories about why the father had reported his daughter missing and suggested none of them have any credibility.
