Many children could have a holiday without gifts, but the Salvation Army Miracle Tree is trying to make sure these kids in Mesa County have presents to open Christmas morning. Miracle Trees are being placed all over Grand Junction. One is inside the Mesa Mall and they have the names and ages of children that would like to get presents, but whose parents just can't afford it.
While shoppers bustled around the mall some stopped by the Miracle Tree to help make the Christmas of a child memorable.
Last year, the Salvation Army provided presents for around 4,000.
This year the Salvation Army is working with several other organizations to provide gifts, so they are hoping to reach even more children this Christmas.
