Man Arrested After Hit and Run Involving Police Vehicles

A man is in custody after allegedly ramming two different law enforcement vehicles with his truck and tries to run over a Grand Junction police officer. The incident unfolded about 9:00 P.M. Thursday. Police got a call of a man who was acting crazy in the parking lot of Grand Junction Fire Station number two at 28 1/4 and Patterson Roads. When police arrived to check on the unidentified man, he allegedly tried to run over an officer. He then fled the parking lot in a white pickup truck and in the process police say he hit another officer's car. Moments later the man was pulled over by a Colorado State Patrol trooper near the Safeway store on Patterson. That's when the man allegedly backed into the trooper's vehicle. This time authorities used a taser gun to subdue the man who was in the nude. The man was taken into custody and police say he underwent a psychiatric evaluation at St. Mary's Hospital before being transported to the Mesa County jail.
