Five hundred needy children got a little something from Santa Sunday night during the 20th annual Christmas give–a–way for needy children of Mesa County.
Along with gifts, the Committee for a Merry Christmas gave 250 food baskets for families as well.
The committee begins raising money in February through local businesses, organizations and high schools, and committee members say after 20 years the give–a–way has become an institution in Mesa County.
Committee members say fundraising is also a hands-on operation, as part of yearly fundraising includes rolling more than 300 dozen tomalis for local functions and businesses.
