Denver (AP)- The Denver Post reports today that the Governor's
task for sexual predators believes there is a loophole in the state law. They say sex offenders can avoid the label by refusing to participate in a psychological evaluation. Dave Thomas, Executive Director of the Colorado District
Attorney's Office, said the task force is working on closing the
loophole. A new risk–assessment scale would focus more on the sex offender's criminal record than other scientific factors.
