A fire in Pear Park causes no immediate threats to structures, but destroys dozens of bales of hay. The fire broke out around 6:15 Saturday night igniting more than 50 bales of hay in a field in the 29–hundred block of D 1/2 Road. While the cause of the blaze is still under investigation, the location did pose a problem for firefighters. With the closest water source a quarter of a mile away a 25–hundred gallon tanker truck was needed to shuttle water from the hydrant to the scene. Heavy equipment had also been requested. It took firefighters several hours to extinguish the blaze completely.
