A boulder causes a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 just east of Palisade Saturday night. According to Palisade Fire Chief Richard Rupp the crash happened just before nine o'clock. Apparently the initial crash was the result of an approximately 400 pound boulder falling onto the interstate. The large rock hit a pickup truck forcing it onto its side. Another vehicle was also hit. Then a third car hit one of the vehicles involved in the initial crash. Three people were taken to St. Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The right hand lane of the east bound side of I-70 was closed for some time following the crash in order for emergency crews to clear the scene.
