Lifelong Rancher Recieves Prestigous Water Leader Award

A lifelong Rio Blanco County rancher receives a very prestigious reward from Colorado Water Congress. David smith is the 26th recipient of the Wayne N. Aspinall Water Leader of the Year Award.
Smith has served on the State Water Conservation Board under three governors, and is currently serving with the Colorado River District.
Smith is a father of five. His kids, Senate Candidate Matt Smith and his sister Lori McInnis who's married to Former Congressman Scott McInnis say they are thrilled for their father. The Aspinall Award is named after former congressman Wayne N. Aspinall who authored legislation to create Lake Powell, Flamming Gorge, and Aspinall Unit Reservoirs.
